How to Get There
River Access
'An 8-knot speed limit will be in place from Quarry Point to the Causeway Bridges including all of Perth Waters from 3pm to 11pm.
Perth Water will be closed to all vessels from 4:45pm to 9:45pm. Vessels are only to anchor or moor in the designated spectator vessel areas as shown on the map. The Narrows Bridge main navigation channel (centre arch only) is to be used by all vessels.
Additionally Mend St Channel will be closed from 12:45pm until approximately 11pm.
No vessel is to move from the vessel holding areas until Department of Transport, Marine Safety announces the waters to be open. An announcement will be broadcast on marine band radios 27Mhz ch 88 and VHF ch’s 9 and 16 when the above waters are reopened.
The Narrows Personal Watercraft Freestyle area will be closed from 3pm to sunset.
The Belmont ski area will be closed to water skiing from 3pm until sunset on Australia Day to facilitate safer boating from the Maylands and Goodwood Parade boat ramps.
Bathing and swimming will be prohibited in Perth Water between the Narrows Bridge and Heirisson Island from 3pm to 11pm.
Remember, if you are on a boat on Australia Day, be mindful of the banks of the Swan River when launching your boat, we need to help prevent erosion and protect the wildlife.
