Getting There & Back

Transperth offers plenty of easy options to get to the City of Perth Australia Day Celebration using public transport.

Due to the large crowds anticipated on Australia Day, Transperth recommends you plan your journey and allow plenty of travelling time.

Buses

Timetabled and additional bus services will be operating. A number of bus services will be required to deviate from their normal route due to road closures.

Trains

Timetabled and additional train services will be operating on all lines.

Ferries

Transperth ferry services will not operate from 12pm onwards due to the closure of the Swan River.

South Perth Free Event Transport Service

To facilitate access to the City of South Perth Celebration Zone, the City will be providing a free shuttle service between the George Burnett Leisure Centre (GBLC), Manning Rd, Cnr Elderfield Rd, Karawara and the event zone. GBLC is easily accessible from the Kwinana Freeway and has ample parking facilities.

  • Buses will run approximately every 15 minutes between 10am and 9pm
  • No buses between 7.30pm and 8.30pm (fireworks)
  • Last buses from the Celebration Zone to GBLC at 9pm

South Perth Transperth service from Curtin Uni

Transperth buses will depart Curtin University from 4pm as needed, with the last bus leaving at 6.30pm to the South Perth foreshore. Return journeys will depart as required after 8.30pm, and the last bus will depart to Curtin University 20 minutes after the event closes.
