Survival Perth 2012
For the first time in 2012, NAIDOC Perth will manage the Survival Concert, at the Supreme Court Gardens, Perth on Australia Day (26 January) between 12.30pm and 7.30pm.
Survival Perth 2012 is a celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and communities through music, song, dance and a large variety of community stalls.
The Survival Concerts are celebrated nationally to acknowledge the resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples since the arrival of the First Fleet, which Australia Day commemorates. This year, the 26 January will also mark 40 years since the start of the Aboriginal Tent Embassy in Canberra, the champions of which will be acknowledged at the Concert in a special history marquee.
This alcohol and drug free event will have free admission and will showcase Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander music and dance, along with food, kid’s activities, an Elder's tent and a large array of community stalls.
The day will begin with a Welcome to Country, traditional dance, a flag raising ceremony and acknowledgement of Elders associated with the Survival movement and the Tent Embassy.
Hosted by Richard Walley OAM, Survival Perth will feature a talented line-up of Western Australian Aboriginal artists performing music across a diverse range of musical styles including country rock, hip-hop, soul and mainstream contemporary.

On a National level the band has an amazing sound that needs to be heard with beautiful melodic tunes and amazing voice over harmonies. The boys have won multiple awards and will be releasing their latest album in the coming months.
Walkabout Boys
Walkabout Boys were formed in early 2007 when they were drawn together by their shared passion for music and a drive to build stronger relationships within their community, Yiyili.
State Grand Finalists in the 2009 Next Big Thing and 2010 WAM Song of the Year Award winners the Walkabout Boys have a fresh sound with elements of Rock, Reggae and Country uniquely blended to reflect the environment that surrounds them.
