Over 200 years of Aussie spirit, one spirited night
This year the theme for the City of Perth Australia Day Skyworks is Celebrating the Australian Spirit.
We see this all around us in everything we do and everyone we know.
Whether it is the spirit of helping others through adversity, or showing our love for family and friends, or in the way we celebrate and have fun, or just that great Aussie welcome that is known around the world.
We invite you to enjoy the day of free activities along the foreshore with your friends and family. Relax with a picnic, watch the air and water shows or simply kick back with mates. Even grab some snaps for the annual Skyworks Photo Competition (more details in the printed Skyworks guide).
At 8pm when the sky explodes with the famous Skyworks fireworks display, the accompanying MIX94.5 soundtrack will pay special tribute to our unique people and culture and celebrate the spirit that unites us.

Lord Mayor's Message
2011 was a defining year for Western Australians and this Australia Day is a time for us all to look back over the last twelve months and celebrate our collective achievements.
I believe, as a City and as a State, we shone on the global stage as a community that has great respect for each other and our surroundings.
Last year's Skyworks was the most successful event it its 27 year history, with hundreds of thousands of people gathering in harmony to watch the renowned pyrotechnics display.
